So, the Proclaimers are currently diligently working to get this issue resolved. But as Media Shout, ProPresenter, and other programs have discovered, Powerpoint integration is the make or brake software of the presentation world. As "Stand-Alone" programs designed to be used "instead" of Powerpoint. Proclaim is starting out very much like Propresenter and Media Shout did. Proclaim is in it's infancy and cannot do anywhere near the things that ProPresenter or Media Shout can do at this time. I know the new version 5 of ProPresenter is rolling out but we chose not upgrade at this time. We also use Pro Presenter but are in the process of slowly transitioning over to Proclaim. and thought Proclaim would be the same.) If most (if not all) the features in a program like ProPresenter are PLANNED TO BE INCORPORATED IN THE FUTURE, can you also elaborate? Thanks much! Can a LOGOS TECH (or anyone knowledgeable) please give me a COMPLETE LIST OF ALL THE FEATURES OF PROCLAIM (details are not included in the intro video) with an explanation why one cannot IMPORT STANDARD PRESENTATIONS LIKE POWERPOINT OR VIDEOS into it, like you can on ProPresenter? (I really like the Logos 4 software. $399 seems a little steep to pay for just a few features like importing song lyrics with predesigned templates (there are plenty of places to get those). Are they kidding? Since I already use Logos 4, we were intrigued by the collaborative features of Proclaim, but one can use the CLOUD technology () to collaborate on ProPresenter which offers the full suite of features one needs to do ALL the things Logos "proclaims" to do w/ this software (sorry for the pun). Someone said Proclaim will not even run a PowerPoint presentation. Once you have a Theme selected, you can choose which slide object you want the Verse, as well as the Reference to show up in by clicking the dropdown next to the version of the Bible you are viewing.Since Proclaim's tutorials are sparse and seriously insufficient, I cannot tell if buying "Graceway's Total Media" for $399 (same price as a single-user license for ProPresenter) offers all the many video/media etc. To access this menu, choose "Options>Slide Options" from the top right of the Bible View, and choose a Theme from this menu. You can also Apply themes to Bible searches as well from within the Bible View. In the Theme Selector, you will also notice a new feature starting in 7.11 that you can enable and disable Media Actions when applying themes with the image icon at the top right of the Theme Selector. You can also right click on individual slides within a Presentation, and apply a theme to a single slide, or a range of slides by selecting them. To do this, simply single click on a Presentation in the Library, and then choose the Theme from the Theme selector from the Toolbar. Once you have a theme created, you can then apply these to Presentations in your Library. We offer a selection of free themes and media at /free/ Applying Themes to a Presentation You can also choose items for Builds, or Shape properties. For example, you can select on a text box, and it shows the font attributes, much like you'd see in the Presentation Editor. If you select anything in the Object List, or click on something on the Canvas, you can see that the Inspector changes based on what you have selected. If nothing is selected, it shows the attributes of the Theme Slide, which contains things like Theme Size, Background Color, and starting in 7.11, you can add Media Actions to Themes. This is contextual, based on what is selected. The right side of the Theme Editor is the Inspector. You can move things 'out of view' of the Canvas and they will still apply with the Theme, but nothing will show on the output, unless it exists on the Canvas. The Canvas is where you can add content to your Theme to apply to Presentation slides. The center area of the Theme Editor will show the Canvas. This is a draggable list, so you can click and drag to reorder. Under the Slide Navigator, you can see the Object List and this is where you can choose the "Z-Order" of slide objects on a specific Theme. In the Slide Navigator, you can also right click on these Theme Slide to get other options like renaming, duplicating, deleting, copying or pasting, etc. Choosing the "+" button immediately to the right of the theme selector, you can add a new Theme Slide within your theme. On the top left of the Slide Navigator, you can select the Theme you want to adjust, and then select from a Theme Slide inside that theme. On the left hand side of the Theme Editor, you should see all Theme Slides within the theme in the Slide Navigator. Inside the Theme Editor, you can adjust currently created themes, or create a brand new theme. from the toolbar, and then select Theme Editor. ProPresenter7.11 is available to everyone with a ProPresenter+ renewal date past 12/12/22 Creating Themes Users can find dozens of residents who sell and trade clothing, skin and even body parts in Second Life. Some residents create special skin textures for avatars ranging from realistic skin and hair to fantasy-inspired scales or feathers. If he or she wanted a completely new hairstyle, the user would have to either design it or buy it from another resident. Even with this level of control, the user can only adjust what is already there. For example, if the user wants to modify the avatar's hairstyle, he or she might use the tool's slide bars to make the hairstyle longer or shorter. One of the menu choices is appearance, which allows a user to adjust the way his or her avatar looks. Nothing in Second Life is permanent - if a user decides his or her avatar should evolve from a hulking brute to a half-cat half-girl creature, he or she can make the changes at any time.Ī resident can also right click his or her mouse on the avatar, which pulls up a pie-shaped menu. They can change their avatars' appearance as often as they like. So, whether you're a former or current user or just curious about Second Life, we'll explain to you how it all works. But registration picked up in 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic keeping people at home. In 2018, it was reported to have 500,000 active monthly users (down from more than 1 million in 2013). Second Life was a huge hit in the mid-2000s, though interest has waned since then. They inhabit a virtual world free of pre-determined goals or tasks, just like the real world. Unlike MMORPGs, residents in Second Life aren't in a game, though there are games inside Second Life's virtual environment. Users navigate through an online world, encountering strange landscapes and new people. Like an MMORPG, users represent themselves with a customizable, 3D figure that acts like a computer-generated puppet. In many ways, Second Life is similar to massively multiplayer online role playing games ( MMORPGs). Some residents design short programs, called scripts, which give avatars or objects new abilities, including special animations or the ability to generate copies of other objects. They can also do things that are impossible in the real world - avatars can fly or teleport to almost any location. They can do a lot of things you can do in real life - buy land, shop for clothes and gadgets, or just visit with friends. In Second Life, residents can go to social gatherings, live concerts, press conferences and even college classes. User-generated content also explains why Second Life is for adults only - Linden Lab places few restrictions on residents, meaning that you can see some pretty raunchy creations while you're exploring the environment. Resident additions to the virtual world are called user-generated content, and this content is one of the factors that makes Second Life such a unique online environment. For one thing, they can contribute to the world around them, creating buildings, objects or even animations. That being said! And for any video game that is a real achievement. Most importantly it makes you care, about both the characters and the choices you make. Apart from its technological accomplishment in making sure character choices matter it’s a considerably more intelligent and thoughtful story than almost any of its peers. It is very far from perfect, but if developer Dontnod can find a better scriptwriter next time (they’re French, so were using an American writer) and perhaps better facial technology (the graphics are fine most of the time, but some of the close-ups look straight out of a PlayStation 2 games) then they may hit upon something truly revolutionary.Įven with its faults we’d strongly recommend Life Is Strange to anyone that enjoys Telltale’s output, or games like Heavy Rain or Under Dawn. It reconfirms Life Is Strange as one of the best story-based games of the year, and of the generation so far. In getting that point across Episode 5 succeeds excellently well, even if this is by far the least interactive episode in the series. But this one is so heartbreakingly difficult we must’ve sat there for a good five minutes pondering over it. Unlike other games, especially Teltale Games titles, these make a significant difference to how the story plays out, such that major characters and plot points are completely different, or even entirely absent, depending on the choices you’ve made.Īnother sequence towards the end of this episode highlights all the choices you’ve taken along your path and then leads up to what is the only major decision in the finale. Even while many of the bit part actors remain notably less so.īut the biggest achievement of Life Is Strange is how it handles its moral choices. It’s insights such as this that have always enabled the series to rise above its often risible dialogue although it’s also been helped by Max’s voice actress Hannah Telle, who is particularly good this episode. As we wrote in our reviews of the games earlier episodes, Sean Diazs story begins with tragedy. Life is Strange 2 s thoughtful minutiae add up to make it one of the best games of the year, and one of the only. However, one of this episode’s neatest tricks is how even if you’ve been playing Max as a goody two-shoes (which we have, and which seemed to us to be her natural state) an inspired sequence towards the end hints that her apparent altruism is the product of rather more complex psychological issues beneath the surface. The brilliance of Life is Strange 2 lies in the details Credit: dontnod. The simple sketching mechanic becomes harder, more frustrating, disempowering. Will it do a lot with a little and have that dash of humor in Life is Strange one or delve into a journey of mature themes like racism, immigration, and police brutality like in the second title? Both games are brilliant, but their traits make certain players like one more than the other. We have to say though that some of the newer story elements introduced in the previous episode are disappointingly mundane compared to the mystery of the earlier chapters, with one of the plot twists for a key character seemingly coming out of nowhere. By Alistair Jones published 10 December 2019 Comments (Image: Square Enix) PC Gamer's got your back. Inputting a value here determines how many corners your design will have. Step 6: Make changes to the Corners slider. Once again, the answer to this question is dependent on your particular public persona, so strike a balance that works for you. However, if your design has too many paths, the edges will look rough. Simpler designs have fewer paths, but having too few paths can distort or box out your image. With this, you can determine how many individual paths will exist in your final product. Step 4: Drop the drop-down Advanced menu to reveal further customization options. This slider’s appearance will alter depending on the mode you’ve chosen, but all three have the same general purpose. Step 3: Then, tweak the Colors, Grayscale, or Threshold sliders. Step 2: Choose the mode that works best with your layout from the Mode menu. This will provide you with a real-time preview of your vectorized image. Once you’ve got the picture picked out, click the Preview button. Step 1: Choose Window > Image Trace from Adobe Illustrator’s menu bar while the image is open. Using the Image Trace tool in Adobe Illustrator, you can quickly and easily transform a raster image into a vector image by following these steps: How to use Image Trace in Adobe Illustrator This is because Photoshop has to process a lot of information when tracing large images, and this can take some time. This is because Image Trace relies on pixel information to create its vectors, and if an image has low-quality pixels, then the resulting vector graphic will also be low-quality.Īnother disadvantage of Image Trace is that it can sometimes be slow when working with very large images. One disadvantage is that it can sometimes produce unsatisfactory results with low-quality images. There are also some disadvantages to using Image Trace. This can save a lot of time when working with complex images. It is typically much faster to trace an image than it is to redraw it by hand. Another advantage of Image Trace is its speed. This makes it ideal for use in design applications where precision is important. When used with high-quality images, Image Trace can produce very accurate vector graphics. One advantage of Image Trace is its accuracy. Now that we understand how Image Trace works let’s take a look at some of its advantages and disadvantages. A higher value means that more noise will be removed, resulting in a cleaner trace. This setting determines how much noise (random pixels) will be removed from the image during tracing. Paths represent the accuracy of the vector paths that are created, while Pixels represent the accuracy of the raster image that is used as a basis for the trace.Ī higher value for either of these settings will result in a more accurate trace, but it will also take longer to create. These settings determine the accuracy of the trace. The next two settings are Paths and Pixels. A higher threshold means that adjacent pixels must be very similar in order to be grouped together, while a lower threshold means that they can be less similar. This setting determines how similar adjacent pixels must be in order to be grouped together. Each mode has its own strengths and weaknesses, so you will need to experiment with each one to see which one works best for your particular image. There are four different modes: Color, Grayscale, Black and White, and Outline. This setting determines how the trace will be created. When using the Advanced Options, you will have a number of different settings that you can adjust to get the results that you want. These presets are great for simple images, but for more complex images, you will need to use Advanced Options. The Tracing Presets are a set of pre-defined options that you can use to quickly convert your image into a vector graphic. Once you have the Image Trace panel open, you will see that there are two options: Tracing Presets and Advanced Options. You can find it under the Window menu item and then under Other Panels. Image Trace allows you to do things like digitizing hand-drawn sketches and turning them into editable vector graphics. You can quickly and easily trace an existing drawing to create a new one. It allows you to make vector illustrations from raster images (PSD, PNG, JPEG, etc.). Image Trace was first introduced in Adobe Illustrator CS6 and has been a part of every subsequent release of the software. In this article, we will take a look at what Image Trace is, how it works, and some of the pros and cons of using this feature. Image Trace can be a very useful tool, but it is not without its drawbacks. There are many reasons why someone might want to do this, but the most common reason is for use in printing or other design applications where vector graphics are required. Image Trace enables users to convert raster images into vector graphics. Image Trace is a feature in Adobe Illustrator CS6 and not in Adobe Photoshop. While learning how to code from the command line is often celebrated, it’s not achievable for everyone at first. GitHub Desktop is ideal for those that want to work with Git but don’t feel like they have the confidence to use the Command Line Interface (CLI) on its own. Example #1: You Want To Start Slow With Git You’ll be able to interact with Git without using the command line by using the interface of GitHub Desktop alone. It gives you powerful features straight from an app installed on your computer. If GitHub makes working with Git easy, GitHub Desktop effectively takes it further. With a GitHub account set up in advance, you’ll be able to install and use GitHub Desktop. That brings us to GitHub Desktop-or what’s sometimes known as a graphical user interface (GUI). Other services can host repositories too, but GitHub is a trusted and free service, preferred by most software developers. In a nutshell, GitHub is a tool to help you work with Git. Using GitHub allows you to back up your files, collaborate with others, and share your code when required. GitHub is a hosting service for the local Git repositories, which can then store them in the cloud. One common mistake is to think of Git and GitHub as the same thing, which isn’t strictly accurate. Your file history, called “commits,” effectively informs Git when changes you want to make should be saved. A project managed using Git is known as a repository.Ī repository is useful because it contains all of the files and folders associated with an ongoing project, including each file’s revision history. Git enables you to save drafts of your code so you can revert to previous versions if complex errors happen during development. Git is a control system used to manage code-around 70% of software developers use it. To appreciate the value of GitHub Desktop, first, we need to understand the different elements involved. There are a variety of valuable features the application offers, as we’ll see later in the guide. It’s a tool for beginners that enables you to manage things using a graphical interface-what’s known as a front-end-speeding up your development workflow. GitHub Desktop is an application for your personal computer that allows you to interact with GitHub directly, meaning you don’t have to depend on your browser. It’s an open-source tool that simplifies your entire development workflow so you can spend more time where it matters. Tower is especially interesting for GitHub users because it not only allows to work with the local Git repository: Tower also integrates tightly with GitHub itself, allowing you to create and manage remote repositories directly in your GitHub account or work with platform-specific features like "Pull Requests" right from the desktop. If you want to make your work with Git and GitHub easier, then you’ll want to use GitHub Desktop. One of the more advanced GUI applications in this area is the Tower Git client: This allows you to work in a more visual way, using modern tools like drag & drop, contextual menus, and other advantages of GUI applications. You are then working with Git by executing textual commands with various options and parameters: Git and GitHub on the DesktopĪnother way to use Git on your desktop computer is through a GUI application. One way to use Git on your desktop computer is through the Command Line Interface (in short: "CLI"). |
